Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

Written by univerti

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 cups creamy natural peanut butter (I prefer the no sugar added type), divided
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
    Instructions:
  1. I start by grabbing a large bowl. In it, I mix together the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and 1 cup of the peanut butter. Once the mixture is well combined, I spread it evenly in a 9 x 13 pan. This forms the base of the bars.
  2. Next, I melt the chocolate chips with the remaining 1 cup of peanut butter. I usually do this in the microwave, taking care to stir it occasionally to ensure a smooth mixture.
  3. Once the chocolate and peanut butter are melted and mixed, I spread this mixture evenly over the cracker crumb base in the pan. It’s starting to look really tempting at this point!
  4. The hardest part for me is waiting for it to chill until firm. I place the pan in the refrigerator to speed up the process.
  5. Once it’s firm, I cut the whole thing into 54 bars. The size can vary depending on how big or small I want them.
  6. I store these peanut butter bars in the refrigerator or freezer. They’re a great treat to have on hand when I’m craving something sweet and peanut buttery.
