Ingredients:
- 1 lb sausage
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 8 biscuits (pre-made or homemade)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick
Directions:
- Grab a big ol’ skillet and toss in your sausage. Cook it up over medium heat until it’s all nice and browned, breaking it up as you go.
- Once that sausage is lookin’ good, sprinkle in your flour and give it a good stir. Let it cook for about 2 minutes to get all friendly with the sausage.
- Slowly pour in your milk while you keep stirring like there’s no tomorrow. Crank up the heat to medium-high and let it all come to a nice boil. Then, turn down the heat and let it simmer until it thickens up, ’bout 5 minutes or so. Season it up with salt, pepper, and sage to taste. If you’re feelin’ spicy, toss in those red pepper flakes too.
- Now, while all that’s simmerin’, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grab a 9×13 inch baking dish and line it with them biscuits, makin’ sure they’re all cozy in there.
- Once your gravy’s nice and thick, pour it all over them biscuits.
- Pop that dish into the oven and let it bake for about 25-30 minutes, until them biscuits are golden brown and lookin’ delicious.
- Serve it up hot and enjoy!
